Prof. Dr. S.N. Vikas pursued his Master of Design in Visual Communication from IIT, Mumbai, National Diploma (5-Year) in Applied Art in the erstwhile College of Fine Arts, JNTU, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Applied Art.
He has been working as a professor in Applied art contributing to the academic expansion of the field of Graphic Design and Visual Communication. He rendered his services as the Head of the Department of Applied Arts, College of Fine Arts, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. He has also worked as Director, International Relations Cell (IRC) at JNAFA University and held several other academic responsibilities such as Placement and Training Officer, Assistant Public Information Officer, Hostel Warden, Building Maintenance Officer.
He worked as Coordinator for Post Graduate programmes and Coordinator, Computer Graphics lab established under MODROBS of MHRD, College of Fine Arts, JNT University, Hyderabad. As a member of Board of Studies, he took an active interest in developing academic curricula at College of Fine Arts at the University for various disciplines. He was a Jury member for recruitments in Banaras Hindu University, Sri Sri University Bhubaneswar, MS University of Baroda and Raja Mansingh Tomar University, Gwalior.
Aiming at live projects, Prof. Dr. S.N. Vikas organized a seminar, “Better images through Computer Graphics” in collaboration with MSIT program of JNTU and participated in several National conferences such as “Animation India by NASSCOM, “National Graphic Design Educational Meet,” “ODESSY 2010,” “ ART and Contemporary Media,” “Visual Semantics” and “Design Education: Ulm & After” organized by Industrial Design Centre, Institute of Technology, Mumbai, and International Design perspective seminar on “Brand –Identities-Graphics 2003” conducted by National Institute of Design, Ahmadabad. Sharing his vast experience in the field of Design and Visual communication, he also presented papers on “Corporate Identity Design,” “Contemporary Media Role on Visual Communication,” and “Copyright for Art and Graphic Design” at National Level Workshops by AICTE and Ministry of Human Resource Development.
He took part in several workshops such as “Corporate Ad- Filmmaking”, “CAD for garment design and Up-gradation of skills of Rural Artisans” and training workshops on Graphic Art and “Low cost media for Development” conducted by Centre for Development Communication (CDC), Hyderabad.
He worked as Principal, College of Fine Arts, and Director, Academic and Planning, JNAFA University, Hyderabad.
